I first learned to knit sometime in the early 2000s but it wasn't until I learned to crochet in 2012 that my love for yarn really blossomed.

That year, I moved to Seattle and soon started working at an adorable fabric and yarn shop. I primarily sewed back then while honing my crochet skills by cranking out one amigurumi after another. After spending time around other knitters, I found myself picking up needles again and that's when all other crafts all but fell by the wayside. I knit a hat and then a sweater and then a lace shawl. In no time, I was completely fascinated and a full-time knitter.

I love to knit everything but my favorite projects these days are sweaters and shawls. My favorite techniques are lace, brioche and top-down seamless sweaters.

I'm happy to discuss your knitting or crochet project, help you find the perfect yarn or pick up that dropped stitch anytime! You can find me at Stash Tampa IRL and on Ravelry as stellasophia.

2019 Stash Team KAL:

#TeamYvonne will be knitting Harlow by Andrea Mowry. It's a great introduction to brioche as well as a fun, satisfying project for those with brioche experience. This hat is knit using two colors of fingering weight yarn, you'll need about half a skein of each. We have lots of great brands to choose from at both locations. The color combination possibilities are endless... and this hat is reversible!

Want to take a class to learn this super cool technique? Sign up for the Brioche Hat Class with Brandy on Saturday, January 12 from 10am --1pm at Stash Tampa.
