I’ve been crocheting since I was a child and knitting for the past 10 years. The story goes that around the age of 10, I saw my mother crocheting and absconded to my bedroom with her hook, yarn, and how to crochet book. From that point on, I was hooked!! When Ravelry came around, I yearningly looked at all the knitting patterns wishing I could knit. These were the pre-Stash days, so I turned to YouTube and with the help of several videos, taught myself how to knit. It was love at first stitch and I haven’t looked back since. When I am not spending time with my daughter and my two dogs, you can find me either knitting, crocheting or sewing.

I chose Tolt Mitts not only for their aesthetic, but because they are a great introduction to color work, but still interesting if you have done color work before. You also learn how to to do an afterthought thumb. Overall a quick, easy project that holds your interest but gives you enough stockinette for some social knitting as well. These mitts make a great gift, but also are so useful for our Florida climate, great for early morning/late evening runners or walkers. They not only look stylish, but keep your hands warm and still give you easy access to use your phone without having to take them off like you do gloves. Any worsted weight solid yarn will work great. I used Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok. But we have many other options for you in the shop. Knit on US 6 and US 8 double pointed needles. Cast these on with me and come away with having learned color work, how to do an afterthought thumb, and if you never have knit on double points you’ll learn how easy that is too! Questions? You can reach me via Ravelry at Amysue02, Instagram IM ( I’m creatively.amy), the Stash Crew FB page, and of course you can always call the shop for my schedule and stop in while I’m there. I will be with you every step of the way!
